1. Electromagnetic production of kaons on nucleons (Dr. P. Bydzovsky)
Reliable description of the elementary process of the strangeness electromagnetic production is necessary before more complex calculations of the hypernucleus production are performed. Many theoretical attempts to understand the process have been made resulting in variety of models.
Isobaric models for the photo- and electro-production of kaons on the nucleon will be discussed and a quality of predictions of some of them shown in view of new experimental data (Bonn, JLab).
2. Electroproduction of Strangeness and Spectroscopy of Hypernuclei (Dr. M. Sotona)
DWIA formalism for the electroproduction of strangeness on complex nuclear targets is shortly reviewed and the results are compared with first electroproduction data from JLab experiment E89-009 on the 12C target. Formalism is then applied to medium-heavy hypernuclei(A around 50 ) which can be used to shed new light on the widely discussed problem of the spin-orbit splitting of Lambda single-particle states in nuclear environment.
