Abstract:
We extended the deformed Skyrme Hartree-fock (DSHF) method to lambda hypernuclei by
including a microscopically determined lambda-nucleon interaction based on
Brueckner-Hartree-Fock calculations of asymmetric hypernuclear matter[1].
The extension is a generalization of closed-shell spherical hypernuclei in Ref.[2,3]
to more complicated open-shell hypernuclei with realistic effective interactions.
We studied the properties of lambda hypernuclei in a broad mass region with the extended
DSHF. The results suggest that the core nuclei and the corresponding hypernuclei have
similar deformations with the same sign. Some light single-lambda hypernuclei are
substantially deformed and the lambda binding energies is modified by the deformation.
With the same method, we investigated the effect of additional lambda hyperon on
the drip line of neutron-rich nuclei and the structure of halo nuclei[4,5].
Some interesting results are obtained.
