In August 1999, direct experimental evidence for the occurrence of supersyrrmetry in nuclei was reported. In this colloquium, supersyrrmetry and its role in nuclear physics will be reviewed. Evidence for its occurrence will be presented. Implications to other fields (particle physics, condensed matter physics and nuclear physics) will be briefly discussed.
