Seeking for Dynamical Polarisation in Solid HD

The Bochum Polarised Target group is examing the possibilityof an HD solid polarized target. Since brute force polarisation is notpossible with the given laboratory infrastructure and has very longbuild up times, the way of dynamical polarisation has been chosen.A 90-Sr beta source to create paramagnetic centers has been employed.Bolometric EPR measurements show the suitability of the source.Polarization could not be measured yet because of isotopic impuritiesinside the material, which shorten nuclear relaxation times.
