The most fundamental question in nature is where do we come from,or, put another way, what are we made of?At the heart of this question is the process of nucleosynthesis.I will discuss the challenges in obtaining the nuclear physics inputfor the Big Bang and stellar evolution. Then I will show how a newgeneration of theoretical developments and experiments can shedlight on the complex nuclear processes that control the evolution ofstars and stellar explosions.
