The new spectroscopic studies of the exotic nuclei stimulatea development of the nuclear models to describe properties ofnuclei away from the stability lines. Making use of the finiterank separable approach for the quasiparticle random phaseapproximation enables one to perform nuclear structurecalculations in very large configuration spaces. Using theSkyrme interactions, we study the properties of the vibrationalexcitations in the even-even nuclei. In this seminar we briefly describe our approach. As anillustration of the method, we demonstrate the resultsfor the quadrupole excitations in nuclei around 132Sn.Also, we concentrate on the results obtained forthe charge-exchange excitations. The effects of the tensorcorrelations on the strength distribution ofGamov-Teller resonances in 118,120Sn are discussed.
