Exotic nucleosynthesis processes are responsible for the production ofelements heavier than iron and for the luminosity profiles of theso-called X-ray bursts. Nuclear structure inputs into the rp-process,which powers X-ray bursts, have been shown to be very sensitive to notonly the decay and electron capture rates of nuclei involved, but alsoto some of the finer structure of these nuclei. Experimental andtheoretical inputs of the rp-process are explored, and sensitivities tonuclear structure are presented. In addition, an overview ofexperiments to constrain the r-process will be presented.
