We are pleased to announce the Third International Symposium on Nuclear Symmetry Energy (NuSYM13) will be held on July 22-26, 2013 at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, NSCL/FRIB, East Lansing, Michigan, USA.
NuSYM13 is held in conjunction with the first International Collaboration in Nuclear Theory (INCT) four week program on Symmetry Energy in the Context of New Radioactive Beam Facilities and Astrophysics at NSCL/FRIB. The location and timing of NuSYM13 provides ample opportunities for scientists to interact with the ICNT participants, to form collaborations and to advance inter-related research fields. As in the past, the symposium will cover the following topics:
- Advances in nuclear equation of state
- Recent theoretical developments
- Symmetry energy from nuclear reactions
- Symmetry energy from nuclear masses and nuclear structure
- Effects of symmetry energy on astrophysical observables
The conference fee is set to $100.00 US which also covers the conference dinner and all coffee breaks. If you are interested to give a presentation (oral or poster), please submit an abstract at our website http://www.nucl.phys.tohoku.ac.jp/nusym13/ . The deadline for abstract submission is May 10, 2013 [postponed to June 15, 2013]. Currently, information on lodging, travel and visa application is available on the website. However, details on the symposium including registration and scientific program will be updated on the symposium website as they become available.
Please mark your calendar and circulate this announcement among your colleagues. If you have suggestions for speakers or know of exciting new results related to nuclear symmetry energy, please do not hesitate to contact us at ICNT_2013@frib.msu.edu with the subject line: NuSYM13.
We look forward to hearing from you,
